Alternative Economy

Today's blog is a deviation from my regular technical blog; it's about 'Alternative Economy' With recent reading, here's a brief of what I learn.

Addressing alternatives is quite popular during these competitive days; it is termed as 'differentiate'.  It applies to perform the alternatives of mainstream capitalism economy. In a nut shell, non-capitalist practices permeate peoples’ everyday life, where as modern capitalism disrupt the life style on wealth only focus.

"Churning the Earth: The Cost of India's Growth" provokes my motherland's economy insight.

The attached diverse economies framework depicts the identification of economic activities in a particular locality and for approaching the relatedness of different elements in any given practice or social location (Healy 2009). It challenges hegemonic visions of normative capitalist development and opens up the possibility for alternative localized development pathways.

Stay open minded, Things aren't always what they seem to be. Right fit for the current scenarios across the world - including Economy.

Snow cone

AWS Snowcone weighs 4.5 pounds and includes 8 terabytes of usable storage. It is small (9″ long, 6″ wide, and 3″ tall) and rugged, and can be used in a variety of environments including desktops, data centers, messenger bags, vehicles, and in conjunction with drones. It runs on either AC power or an optional battery, making it great for many different types of use cases where self-sufficiency is vital.

The device enclosure is both tamper-evident and tamper-resistant, and also uses a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) designed to ensure both security and full chain-of-custody for your data. The device encrypts data at rest and in transit using keys that are managed by AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and are never stored on the device.

Like other Snow Family devices, Snowcone includes an E Ink shipping label designed to ensure the device is automatically sent to the correct AWS facility and to aid in tracking. It also includes 2 CPUs, 4 GB of memory, wired or wireless access, and USB-C power using a cord or the optional battery. There’s enough compute power for you to launch EC2 instances and to use AWS IoT Greengrass.

Snowcone is used for data migration, content distribution, tactical edge computing, healthcare IoT, industrial IoT, transportation, logistics, and autonomous vehicle use cases.

CI CD Impediments

Most of you know the definition and concepts around it.  Let me raise a different question - how it is misunderstood?

Impediments to true Continuous Delivery fall into three categories:
  1. Process: Your process involves many manual blockers, including QA and manual deployment.
  2. Behavioral: Your managers or engineers lack confidence. They’re not sure whether defects will be caught before merging or whether their team can respond to issues uncovered after deployment.
  3. Technical: Your current tooling is either lacking, too slow, or breaks frequently.

Major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google) come up with few out of box solutions for CI/CD in fully automated way.

The attached snap explains end (source code) to end (production) pipeline blockers with automated process using their powerful tool set.
